NMSS Featured In Local Press This Week
NMSS held a press conference on campus this week. Executive Director, Tony Kline and CSU Dominguez Hills President, Dr. Mildred Garcia both spoke, along with parents and students. NMSS' technology was highlighted in a story on KTLA Channel 5, and KWHY Channel 22. NMSS was also featured in the Daily Breeze here.
NMSS Seeking Parents or Guardians for Lunch Staff
NMSS is looking for 2 dedicated parents or guardians to work for the school during lunch shift. The positions will help with lunch setup, serving food, and cleanup operations. The shifts will be 10:45am - 12:15pm. The positions pay $8.00 per hour. If you are interested, please contact Ms. Winn at 310-999-6162 ext 114.

NMSS Awarded $30,000 Grant from Ahmanson Foundation
The Ahmanson Foundation recently informed NMSS that the foundation will make a $30,000 gift for the purpose of setting up a Mac Lab. The lab will allow NMSS to offer state-of-the-art Digital Media courses to 11th grade students next year. We want to thank the Ahmanson Foundation for this gift. Executive Director, Tony Kline, wrote the grant proposal in collaboration with NMSS board member Tyler Kelley and staff from Bel-Air Investment Advisors.
NMSS has raised over $120,000 during the 2009-10 school year through local foundations, parents, and individual donors. The students of NMSS are appreciative and have definitely taken advantage of the opportunities presented to them this year due to this kind of generosity.

NMSS Outperforms Local Schools!
NMSS earned an Academic Performance Index (API) score of 615 for the 2008-09 school year. The API is calculated based on student test scores. We look forward to improving this score as the school continues to mature.
