NMSS Chili's Night is Back By Popular Demand

March 11, Chili's (Carson) welcomes NMSS families and friends for a night of food and fun. Chili's is generously donating 15% of NMSS tabs back to the school, to help fund the School Play and Athletics.
Please print up the flyer below, or grab one at the school and bring it with you. Present this flyer when you pay for your food. All food and drinks purchased between 4pm and 10pm will be eligible for the fundraiser. Pickup orders are also eligible. Last month, NMSS raised $360! Let's all come out for some fun and do it again.

Parents Needed for New Discipline Policy Committee
NMSS will be working with volunteer parents to fine tune the existing school discipline policy for the 2010-11 school year. This committee will work with school administrators to draft a comprehensive policy for student expectations and behavior. The policy will then go to the NMSS board for a final vote. Parents can sign up at the front office, or by calling the main office at 310-999-6162. Meetings will start in late March. Please sign up by March 19.
NMSS Offering Open Houses for Interested Students for the 2010-11 School Year.
We welcome you to attend one of the following Open House dates at NMSS:
- Tuesday, March 9th at 7:00pm
- Tuesday, March 16th at 7:00pm
- Tuesday, March 23rd at 7:00pm
Applications for the 2010-2011 school year are due by April 1st, 2010.
Lottery (if needed) will be held April 2nd, 2010.

NMSS Reaches $59,000 in Donations
NMSS 2009-10 school year fundraising goal is $100,000. As of January 6 2009, we have raised more than $59,000! Please help us reach our goal, to ensure our ability to offfer state-of-the-art technology, small class sizes, clubs and athletics.

NMSS Outperforms Local Schools!
NMSS earned an Academic Performance Index (API) score of 615 for the 2008-09 school year. The API is calculated based on student test scores. We look forward to improving this score as the school continues to mature.

Orders for the New Millennium Student Planner/Handbook will be taken at the Orientation on Saturday, August 29, 2009 10:00 am-2:00 pm. Cost for the planner is $6.00. Planners will be delivered the week of September 29, 2009.
